GET TO KNOW YOUR HOSTS

Denise & Mark

Denise and Mark, both remote workers in the banking and accounting industries, embarked on a mission to find a unique property to restore in Downtown Martinsburg.

In November 2018, they finally found exactly what they were looking for and acquired the George Appleby MD Historic Property. With the help of some exceptional contractors, Mark and Denise worked tirelessly and lovingly to restore this 1849 Greek Revival home. Their original vision for the home included their personal residence, as well as the creation of an apartment and commercial space.

Though halfway through the restoration process, Denise and Mark realized that there was a lack of sleeping accommodations in downtown Martinsburg. With so many nearby attractions, including the train station, fine dining, casual restaurants, shopping, and galleries, they decided to pivot their plans and create a bed and breakfast. To ensure guests had a comfortable and unforgettable stay while exploring the local city's historic and adventure attractions, they added new bedrooms and bathrooms to the home. Thus, creating the Apple B&B we know today.

WHAT OUR GUESTS ARE SAYING

"My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Their place is very cozy, classy, and overall elegant. We felt very comfortable and very much at home. The location is ideal with being in the middle of everything, by cute local shops and delicious local restaurants. Mark went above and beyond with giving great recommendations and ideas for things to do. Each morning we had breakfast and coffee that Mark personally delivered to our room (it was wonderful). If you’re looking for a nice weekend getaway I highly recommend staying here! Mark even put a Happy Birthday balloon in our room waiting for us at check in (we went here for a birthday getaway). Can’t say enough great things!"
